Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: LXRX) surged 10.70% to $2.07 in the pre-market session. Lexicon Pharmaceuticals reported that it has received "Fast Track" status from the FDA for the development of LX1033.

Ariad Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ARIA) added 3.48% to $19.59 in the pre-market session. ARIAD Pharmaceuticals reported that the FDA has granted accelerated approval of Iclusig™ (ponatinib).

American Capital Agency (NASDAQ: AGNC) moved up 2.85% to $31.06 in the pre-market session. American Capital Agency declared a Q4 cash dividend of $1.25 per common share.

Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) soared 2.16% to $5.67 in the pre-market trading. Sprint will acquire the approximately 50% stake in Clearwire (NASDAQ: CLWR) it does not currently own for $2.97 per share.
