Japan posted a narrower trade deficit in October. The country's trade deficit came in at 549 billion yen ($6.72 billion) in October, versus a ¥561.7 billion trade deficit in September. Exports dropped 6.5% y/y, while imports fell 1.6%, according to the Finance Ministry. Economists were expecting the trade deficit to narrow to ¥360 billion in October.
