Top Narrow Based Indexes For November 12, 2012
By 11:30 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 23.88 points, or 0.19%, to 12,791.51, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had dropped 1.79 points, or 0.13%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 6.81 points, or 0.23%.
Some of the narrow based indexes that are still afloat in the markets are Swine Flu and Bird Flu Stocks, which have gained 7.7%, Vehicle Rental Stocks, up 2.2%, and Electronics Retailer Stocks moving 2.0% higher as a group.
In Tickerspy's Swine Flu and Bird Flu complex, Sarepta Therapeutics (NASDAQ: SRPT) had surged 12.6%. Sarepta Therapeutics posted narrower Q3 operating loss.
The best performing Tickerspy Vehicle Rental stock has been Zipcar (NASDAQ: ZIP), which was up 5.1%. Zipcar reported upbeat Q3 profit.
Best Buy Co (NYSE: BBY) is today's leading Tickerspy's Electronics Retailer stock, gaining 4.6%. Best Buy appointed former Williams-Sonoma executive Sharon McCollam its new chief administrative and chief financial officer.
