US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures are lower this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 25 points to 13,005.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 4.10 points to 1,402.70. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 1.75 points to 2,638.75. US stocks closed mostly lower on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.08% to 13,096.46, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.02% to 1,412.16 and the Nasdaq 100 index dropping 0.36% to 2,977.23. The ISM's survey of manufacturing for October, the Conference Board's consumer confidence index for October and construction spending data for September will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Data on ADP private payrolls for October will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET, while data on weekly jobless claims and Q3 productivity will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Kellogg Company K is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.80 per share on revenue of $3.69 billion. Avon Products AVP is expected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.22 per share on revenue of $2.58 billion. Ralph Lauren RL is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $2.15 per share on revenue of $1.84 billion. Starbucks SBUX is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.45 on revenue of $3.38 billion. Pfizer PFE is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.53 per share on revenue of $14.64 billion. Exelon EXC is expected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.72 on revenue of $7.99 billion. Cigna CI is projected to report its Q3 EPS at $1.36 on revenue of $6.63 billion. Exxon Mobil XOM is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $1.96 per share on revenue of $112.40 billion. American International Group AIG is projected to post its Q3 EPS at $0.86 on revenue of $8.70 billion. Public Service Enterprise Group PEG is projected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.72 on revenue of $2.80 billion. Apache APA is estimated to report its Q3 EPS at $2.26 on revenue of $4.06 billion. Visa V posted upbeat fourth-quarter adjusted earnings and announced a new share repurchase program. Zumiez ZUMZ lowered its earnings forecast for the third quarter. European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index climbed 0.13%, London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.21%, French CAC 40 Index dropped 0.04% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.07%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.21%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 1.72% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 1.22%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index surged 0.83% and India's Sensex gained 0.20%. Gold for December delivery gained $3.90 to trade at $1,723.00 an ounce.
