Pre-open movers US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 68 points to 13,413.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 8.20 points to 1,435.10. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 12.75 points to 2,787.00.

A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.57%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.33%, French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.66% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.54%.

Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.48%, China's Shanghai Composite surging 2.60% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.46%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 1.14% and India's Sensex declined 0.28%.

Broker Recommendation Analysts at Jefferies upgraded Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) from “hold” to “underperform.” The target price for Hewlett-Packard has been lowered from $17 to $14.

Hewlett-Packard shares dropped 2.51% to $16.68 in pre-market trading.
