Patent Granted for O2Micro's Vertical Bus Circuit Invention

O2Micro International Limited OIIM, a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, today announced that it was issued 20 claims under United States patent number 8,227,944 for its Vertical Bus Circuit invention. O[2]Micro's patented circuits eliminate costly and power-consuming high voltage isolators. The patented circuits enable multiple cell monitoring ICs to be stacked, without the need for voltage isolators, by transmitting signals among the monitoring devices. This invention enables cost-effective communication of internal battery pack status, such as battery cell voltage and temperature.
