General Dynamics Information
Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics GD, was awarded a
$41.8 million task order by the U.S. Army Medical Research Materiel Command to
provide support services for vaccine, drug and medical device development
programs to the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity. This task
order was awarded under the TRICARE Evaluation, Analysis and Management
Support (TEAMS) contract vehicle and has a term of four years and seven
months. USAMMDA is the U.S. Department of Defense's advanced medical materiel
development activity for products designed to protect and preserve the lives
of service members.
General Dynamics will deliver a wide range of services to help the USAMMDA
guide new medical technologies through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
regulatory and certification process and develop plans to bring these new
products into service. General Dynamics has partnered with Tunnell Government
Services Inc., a life sciences technical services consulting leader in
biotechnology, medical devices and pharmaceutical product development, on this
contract. The companies will provide health, medical research, clinical trial
and regulatory expertise as well as information, acquisition and program
management support services.
