Users Can Opt-Out of Seeing Ads on Amazon Kindle Fire

Amazon.com AMZN announced that it will allow users of its Kindle Fire device to opt-out of display ads that would otherwise occasionally show up on the tablet. The announcement comes in the wake of criticism over the ads, which helped the company keep its prices low on the devices. "We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out," Amazon said in a statement. "We're happy to offer customers the choice." The ads appear on the tablet's lock screen and on some screen savers. The opt-out fee is $15.00. On Monday, AMZN was last trading down around 0.36% to $258.25.
