US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting retail sales data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 28 points to 13,165.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 2.90 points to 1,405.50. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 4.75 points to 2,732.75.
US stocks closed mostly lower on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.29% to 13,169.43, the S&P 500 index falling 0.13% to 1,404.11 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 0.05% to 3,022.52.
Data on retail sales and producer prices for July will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. However, June inventories data will be released at 10 a.m. ET.

DKS is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.64 per share on revenue of $1.44 billion. The TJX Companies
TJX is estimated to report its Q2 EPS at $0.55 on revenue of $5.99 billion.

SKS is expected to report a Q2 loss at $0.09 per share on revenue of $704.01 million. Estee Lauder Companies
EL is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.16 per share on revenue of $2.21 billion.

German gross domestic product expanded 0.3% in the second quarter, versus the first quarter. Britain's annual consumer price index surged 2.6% in July.
Euro-zone gross domestic product declined 0.2% in the second quarter, versus the prior quarter, according to a preliminary reading by Eurostat.
European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.50%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.50%. London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.50% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.78%.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 0.50%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.30% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.18%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index surged 1.05% and India's Sensex gained 0.56%.
Crude oil for September delivery gained $0.36 to $93.10 a barrel, while December gold climbed $2.90 to trade at $1,615.50 an ounce.
The dollar index (DXY) declined 0.13% to 82.32, from 82.404 on Monday.
