KVH Receives $2.8M U.S. Army Contract for Gunners Displays With Initial $1.3M Order

KVH Industries, Inc. KVHI announced today that it received an initial $1.3 million order as part of a 5-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to supply its TACNAV® Universal Multilingual Display (UMD) to the U.S. Army for use as the Gunners Display on the M119 Howitzer. Shipments will begin in the second half of 2012. The 5-year IDIQ contract has a potential value of $2.8 million. The M119A2 105mm Howitzer is a lightweight towed weapon that provides indirect fire support to light, airborne, and air assault forces. It provides destructive, suppressive, and protective indirect and direct field artillery fires in support of combined arms operations. The M119 Howitzer has a range of up to 19,500 meters, so highly accurate reference information is critical when positioning the weapon. A display that is easy to read in all weather conditions, like KVH's TACNAV UMD, allows these operators to contribute to mission success by executing their orders in a safe and timely fashion.
