A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are lower this morning, as investors are awaiting a meeting of European Union leaders. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 82 points to 12,395.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 9.50 points to 1,305.30. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 18.25 points to 2,517.00.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 1.65%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 1.88%, French CAC 40 index fell 2.02% and German DAX 30 index declined 1.76%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 1.98%, Chinese Shanghai Composite declining 0.42% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 1.31%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 1.33% and India's Sensex declined 0.61%.

Analysts at Bank of America upgraded Starbucks Corp

from “neutral” to “buy.” The target price for Starbucks has been raised from $65 to $69. Starbucks shares rose 0.15% to $53.45 in pre-market trading.
