Top Narrow Based Indexes For April 9

By 10:30 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 128.13 points, or 0.98%, to 12,932.01, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had dropped 15.92 points, or 1.14%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 32.47 points, or 1.05%. Some of the narrow based indexes that are still afloat in the markets are Rare Earth Stocks, which have gained 2.1%, Search Engine Stocks, up 1.3%, and Bond ETFs, moving 0.5% higher as a group. In Tickerspy's Rare Earth complex, Molycorp Inc MCP had surged 5.7%. Molycorp reported a 36% rise in its proven and probable reserves of rare earth minerals at its Mountain Pass, California mine. The best performing Tickerspy Search Engine stock has been AOL Inc AOL, which was up 42.9%. AOL announced its plans to sell and license patents to Microsoft Corporation MSFT for $1.056 billion in cash. Vanguard Extended Dur Trs Idx ETF EDV is today's leading Tickerspy's Bond ETFs stock, gaining 3.4%.
