AMR Corp Could See Bids for American Airlines

Shares of AMR Corp (OTC: AAMRQ] have seen a recent price spike during Thursday's trading session after Wall Street Journal headlines crossed saying TPG and Delta Airlines (NYSE: DAL] are bidding for assets of AMR Corp.

Headlines crossed just after 12:30 p.m. ET, saying that TPG is assessing a bid with other airliners for AMR's parent, American Airlines, according to the Wall Street Journal, who is citing "sources".

More headline crossed the wires, saying, that Delta is also separately assessing an American Airlines bid, concluding that Delta would have to get anti-trust approval, probably with concessions.

Currently shares of AMR Corp are trading 14% higher at $0.41, and Delta Airlines is trading up 3.5% at $8.91.
