Shaw Communications' net income from continuing operations climbed to C$202 million, or 43 Canadian cents per share, versus C$17 million, or 3 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's earnings came in at C$210 million. Analysts were expecting a profit of 47 Canadian cents per share.
