CME Reports Drop In December Daily Trading Volume

CME Group Inc (NASDAQ: CME) reported a decline in its December daily exchange trading volume.
CME's daily volume averaged 9.6 million contracts in December, down 9% from a year-ago period and down 27% from November. Daily volume for interest-rate futures dipped 30% y/y to average 3.5 million contracts a day.
CME's foreign exchange volume fell 11% y/y. Its equity index volume climbed 31% from December 2010 to average 2.8 million contracts a day.
CME shares gained 0.07% to $245.80 in after-hours trading.
