Shares of Emcore Corp (NASDAQ: EMKR) surged about 25% after the company reported a wider fiscal fourth-quarter loss. Emcore posted a quarterly loss of $14.3 million, or $0.15 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $885,000, or a penny per share. Its revenue dropped 3.6% to $52.1 million. Emcore's gross margin declined to 19.3% from 23.6%.
Chalice Gold Mines Ltd (OTC: CGMLF) announced its plans to sell its outstanding stake in the Zara project to Shanghai Construction Group's subsidiary Sfeco Group for up to US$100 million.
