, the second-largest U.S. independent oil and natural gas producer, sold 20,000 shares of the company's stock in multiple trades earlier this month, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. John Gordon sold the shares between $81 to $81.20 per share for a $1.62 million payday, according to the filing. Gordon still holds 157,959 shares of Texas-based Anadarko. That stake was worth about $12 million based on Tuesday's closing price of $76.49.
