On the economic calendar, Change in Nonfarm Payrolls came in at 120K versus an estimate of 125K; Change in Manufacturing Payrolls came in at 2K versus an estimate of 9K; the Unemployment Rate came in at 8.6% versus an estimate of 9%. On the commodity front, gold and silver futures traded lower today, with gold trading about 0.1% lower today. Energy futures are mixed, however, with crude oil up over 0.8% near the $101 level and gasoline futures are trading higher by about 2.9%. Natural Gas futures are lower by about 1.6% and copper futures are trading over 0.0.4% lower. On the earnings front today, Big Lots BIG reports Q3 EPS $0.06 vs $0.09 Est; Revenues $1.14B vs $1.13B Est; Scotiabank BNS reports Q4 EPS C$1.10 vs C$1.08 Est; Revenues C$4.35B vs C$4.30B Est. In corporate news, Silicon Labs SLAB announced that it has settled with Airoha under mutually acceptable conditions. Shire PLC SHPGY announced that the FDA has approved clinical trials for a hypotension treatment.
