Seventy-Five Arrested at Occupy Wall Street

Reports indicate that around 75 protesters have been arrested on Thursday as the Occupy Wall Street movement carries out "non-violent direct action" in the streets of Manhattan. Members of the movement marched to the New York Stock Exchange today, and are also planning to "occupy the subways" and "take the square" referring to Foley Square which is across from City Hall. Reports also indicate that the protesters intend to march across the Brooklyn Bridge. The movement was temporarily evicted from their headquarters at Zuccotti Park by Mayor Bloomberg two days ago. A judge ruled that the protesters could return to the park, but would not be allowed to camp. Not surprisingly, the NYPD's presence has been high on Thursday, and some would argue heavy handed. Reports indicate that police in full riot gear have been facing off with protesters who returned to Zuccotti Park from the stock exchange.
