Grand Theft Auto V Unveiling Confirms San Andreas Setting, Hints at New Story, Reveals Little Else

The release date and platforms are still unknown. Take-Two TTWO subsidiary Rockstar Games unveiled its hugely anticipated trailer today, introducing Grand Theft Auto fans to the fifth chapter in the series. During the trailer, we hear the story of a man who moved to San Andreas (well, at least the city appears to be San Andreas) with the goal of retiring, the hope of starting a family (or becoming a better dad -- he may already have kids), and, as he put it, behave just like all the other dads. But as is often the case with the Grand Theft Auto series, his plans didn't work out, paving the way for a crime-filled story of violence and (most likely) vengeance. The game looks good, but the graphics appear to have come from a current-gen machine, so it's safe to assume that Grand Theft Auto V is being developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is wholly possible that the game will come to Wii U as well, though if that's the case, don't expect a ship date before October 2012. Check out the full trailer at Rockstargames.com.
