Sierra Wireless to provide first 4G LTE devices for AT&T customers this summer

Sierra Wireless SWIR today announced it will supply the first devices for AT&T's 4G LTE network. The AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G (also known as the Sierra Wireless AirCard 754S mobile hotspot) and the AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G (the Sierra Wireless AirCard 313U USB modem) will enable mobile consumers and professionals to do more on-the-go from laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices. Both devices will be available to AT&T customers this summer. AT&T recently announced plans to roll out its 4G LTE network in five markets - Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio - later this summer. With the AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G and the AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G, customers with 4G LTE coverage in those markets will be able to enjoy 4G LTE speeds as the network is rolled out in the coming weeks. Outside of the 4G LTE footprint, these devices will access AT&T's HSPA+ network, providing consistently fast mobile broadband speeds. AT&T has announced plans to offer 4G LTE service to customers in at least 15 markets, covering 70 million Americans, by the end of 2011.
