"Amazing Demand" Seen For iPad 2 (AAPL)

The iPad 2 looks to be insurmountable, says Deutsche Bank, through this AppleInsider article.

Apple AAPL said that the launch for the product was "amazing," but did not give an actual sales figure. It doesn't matter though, as the tablet is sold out at pretty much all of its locations, and may have one analyst calls, an "insurmountable lead".

"Demand for the next generation iPad 2 has been amazing," Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller told The Loop. "We are working hard to get iPad 2 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible."

Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore wrote in a note to clients, "We believe the combination of its robust ecosystem, massive App catalog, broad carrier support, industry-leading hardware performance and its price-performance advantage creates an unmatched value for consumers in this segment."

Whitmore conducted a survey of 100 stores, and all were sold out of the device. Among the 100 stores were 50 Apple stores, 20 Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores, and a few AT&T and Verizon stores.

J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz said, "There are many competitive tablet entrants expected, but so far, we think that both Samsung and Motorola have experienced disappointing adoption curves," he said. "We expect more of the same from other entrants.

"Meanwhile, Apple's iPad 2 technical and form factor improvements, coupled with opening weekend stock-outs, point to a widening gap in market share ownership potential."

At last check, shares of Apple were higher despite a selloff in the broader markets, up 59 cents to $352.58.
