Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ) jumped 27.23% to $134.15 at 10:00 am. Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE: BRK-A) announced its plans to acquire 100% of outstanding shares of LZ for $135 per share in cash, representing a 28% premium over LZ's closing price on Friday.

K-Sea Transportation Partners LP (NYSE: KSP) shares advanced 25.04% to $8.09. Kirby Corp (NYSE: KEX) agreed to buy KSP for $335 million.

Star Scientific Inc (NASDAQ: CIGX) climbed 24.75% to $3.68. The US Patent and Trademark Office confirmed the validity of two of CIGX's patents.

MOD-PAC Corp (NASDAQ: MPAC) shares surged 13.53% to $5.37. MPAC shares have dropped 18.45% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 13.42% in the same period.
