Is The News About Steve Jobs Legit?

Apple AAPL co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs has been spotted at the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, California, according to RadarOnline.com, a celebrity and style blog. Stanford Cancer Center is the same facility where the late Patrick Swayze received treatment. Adding to the credibility or lack thereof as it were, is news that the National Enquirer will feature photos of Jobs leaving the center in its next issue. The photos show a man appearing frail, wearing something that one could envision Jobs wearing, but there is direct shot of his face. Jobs has had a liver transplant and conquered pancreatic cancer in recent years, though RadarOnline says it is not known if the alleged visits to the Stanford Cancer Center are to treat either of those conditions or a new problem. Apple has yet to disclose what medical issue prompted Silicon Valley's reigning king to take a medical leave that started a month ago. While the National Enquirer and RadarOnline are not exactly beacons of financial journalism, it is worth noting Nasdaq futures moved lower on Wednesday night as the story spread around the Web. One could take that to mean Apple could have a problem on its hands if a more credible news agency confirms this story.
