The Food & Drug Administration notified Cal-Maine Foods
CALM on November 6 a random sample from one of their unprocessed egg suppliers, Ohio Fresh Eggs, LLC, tested positive for Salmonella Enteritidis (
SE).
The eggs in question were repackaged by Cal-Maine at their Arkansas plant back in early October. Nearly 24,000 dozen eggs from producer Ohio Fresh could be on store shelves.
The eggs in question were distributed to wholesalers across the United States. The states with possible eggs on the shelves are Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
