Emergency Medical Services Corporation (NYSE: EMS) is up over 18% today after the company announced that it is reviewing various strategic alternatives to enhance stockholder value. Oppenheimer supposedly believes the company could be worth $71-81 in a takeover.
C.R. Bard (NYSE: BCR) is almost 5% higher after the comapny said it sees FY11 EPS +14% over reaffirmed FY10 $5.50-5.54 per share, versus the $5.54 estimate to ~$6.27-6.32 per share, versus the $6.14 per share Wall Street estimates. The company also disclosed a plan to improve overall cost structure and operational effectiveness. Lastly, it announced an offering of $750 million senior unsecured notes.
Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE: VMC) is up around 5% after the company was initiated with a Neutral rating at Susquehanna.
