Ralph De La Vega, President and CEO of AT&T Inc. T Mobile & Business Solutions, was interviewed by CNBC at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where he discussed the innovative automobile software capabilities.
"What I love about what we have seen so far is everything is connected in this show, cars are connected, there are autonomous driving vehicle that are connected... but it’s amazing -- everybody wants to connect their home, their car and everything in between and I love the leadership position we have had, where our vision for doing that is that the smartphone becomes your remote control for your life," De La Vega said.
"With your smartphone and all these capabilities," De La Vega continued, "you can control your car, you can control your home and anything in between including the coffee pot if you want to. So, we think there is significant advances coming. What I loved what I saw today and yesterday is what the car manufacturers are doing, it's simply amazing."
What’s The Next Big Thing In The Car Technology Space?
"I remember when we used to open maps to get from one place to another and that's kind of crazy. Nobody does that anymore because of what been able to be done to reinvent the way that people drive from one place to the other. One thing that Audi has done that's a step above everything else I have seen is you can actually send a picture to the Audi A3, which will connect with the 4G LTE, and the car will drive you there," De La Vega added.
