When it comes to doing what one has in mind regardless of what other stakeholders feel, Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN is probably the champion of it among all the major tech companies. While investors continue to worry about the company’s bottom-line, Amazon has yet again gone ahead and announced two new features to grow its business – price negotiation for certain items and delivery within an hour in New York.

Dan Costa, Editor-in-Chief of PC Magazine, was recently on CNBC to discuss the new features announced by Amazon.

“The first thing I want to play out is it [the price negotiation feature] is not an auction per se, that functionality has been available for a while. This really is making offers, if you see one of the product that this qualifies for on Amazon, Amazon says 150,000 products now and they are going to be growing and you don’t like the purchase price, you can actually click ‘make an offer’, say what you would pay for the product and he seller will get an email with your offer and then respond to either accept that offer or give a new offer. So, it brings haggling into the digital age,” Costa said.

On one hour delivery being tested in New York, Costa said, “[…] I think, Amazon has got a better chance of making t work, at least in urban areas and just shows how Amazon, they are innovating on the digital side and now they are also innovating on that last mile actually getting products into consumer hands. So, they are really playing the whole retail space.”
