Paul Hickey Shares 3 Stocks That Perform Well In October

Speaking on CNBC's Fast Money, Paul Hickey of Bespoke Investment Group said that Google Inc GOOGL GOOG, Ryder System, Inc. R and Reynolds American, Inc. RAI have historically performed well in October. Google Inc had an average gain of 14.5 percent in October, over the last 10 years. The stock finished the month in the positive territory in eight out of 10 years and in seven years the gains were above 10 percent. Hickey believes that Google is cheap on a relative basis and he likes the acquisitions the company has made. Reynolds American pays almost 5 percent dividend yield and if the merger with Lorillard Inc. LO goes through it will have 40 percent market share. The stock had nine positive performances in October in the last 10 years. Its average gain was three percent. Lower gas prices and improving economy have positive influence on Ryder System, Inc. R, which had an average gain of 5 percent in October.
