U.S. Dollar Index Extends Gains, FHFA Home Prices Edge Up

The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 99.00, up 0.24. The U.S. Dollar Index has extended the session gains. Market talk about global headline news and economic data is making the rounds. The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that average prices of single-family houses with mortgages guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac rose 0.7 percent on the month in August versus a 0.5 percent rise in July. On the year the FHFA house price index was up 6.4 percent in August versus 5.8 percent increase in July.
