Lean Hog Futures Higher

October lean hogs are trading at 61.60, up 0.27 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 56.92, up 0.30 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 61.30, up 0.35 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading higher just after the open. Friday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 428,000 head and Saturday's was 112,000 head. The total for last week was 2,266,000 head versus 2,291,000 head the previous week and up 1.8 percent versus a year ago.
