The U.K. Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported the number of people claiming unemployment benefits (claimant count) in the United Kingdom fell by 8,600 in July versus an upwardly revised 900 rise in June. It was the first decline since February. The U.K. unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.9 percent in June. Average Earnings were up 2.4 percent including bonuses versus up 2.3 percent in May. The data showed number of persons working in the U.K. reached a record high at 31.75 million just ahead of Brexit vote.
