Lean Hogs higher

Monday's USDA hog slaughter was 373,000 head versus a year ago at 340,000 head. At last check October Lean Hogs were trading at 65.40, up 1.67. December Lean Hogs at last check were trading at 61.92, up 1.47. Market chatter about better pork cutout prices was persistent throughout the trading session. Spill over buying from cattle was supportive.
