S&P 500 Index Futures Trading Higher

Joel Elconin is the co-host of Benzinga's #PreMarket Prep, a daily trading idea radio show. S&P 500 index futures were trading higher by three points at 2097 in Friday's session. The index has traded on both sides of unchanged in a choppy session. A decline off the open found support just below Thursday's low (2092) and just above the pre-market low (2090.50), reaching 2091.25. The ensuing rally came to a halt at 2100.75 and retreated back to the middle of the range. Nine of the top 10 stocks in the index are in the green. Leading the way on the upside is JP Morgan JPM, trading higher by $0.45 at $69.10. Not far behind is Johnson & Johnson JNJ, trading higher by $$0.66 at $99.68. The lone loser is the index's top component, Apple Inc. AAPL, trading lower by $0.22 at $127.28. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY traded at $210.13, up $0.27.
