Live Cattle Futures Lower

February Cattle is trading at 152.35, down 1.10. April Live Cattle is at 150.60, down 1.20. March Feeder Cattle is down 2.70 at 203.75. Market chatter continues about export issues of pork, poultry and beef due to the higher dollar. Chatter is that an increase in domestic consumption to offset the lower exports can happen if lower domestic prices come about. Market talk about choppy trading and wide ranges continues. The monthly cold storage report showed frozen beef stocks at the end of December were 441.23 million pounds, up 0.4 percent versus last year and up 10.9 percent from last month.
