Livestock Futures Open Higher In Cattle, Lower In Hogs

February Cattle was trading up $0.17 at $158.72. March Feeder Cattle was trading up $2.00 at $215.77. February Lean Hogs were trading down $0.27 at $81.60. Lean Hogs Futures for June were trading down $0.45 at $90.45. Daily Hog slaughter was 430,000 head Thursday. The Cash hog markets are $0.050 to $1 lower Friday. Hog products markets are weak. Many professional Hog traders are preparing for the holiday and positioning is light.
