The stocks markets looked sick at the start of the NY trading day. By the time the European markets closed, the German DAX which was down over 1.6% at 8:00 AM ET (the low was down around 2% at the low), was up 0.35%. Well done. The other major indices in Europe also snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
The below chart shows the low to high trading change and % change from the close yesterday.
In the US, the major indices are also well off the lows. The Dow has benefited largely from Visa surging on the back of earnings and a 5B stock buy back. The rise in the stock has contributed over 100 point to a Dow that is up over 200 points. The Nasdaq is up up around 5 points and the S&P is up around 8 points.
