European stocks down as manufacturing weakens and the yanks tighten up on tax rules via ForexLive

Manufacturing may be doing alright in the US but it's faltering in Europe as they cling on to expansion. Adding to stock woes is concern about new US tax rules hit healthcare shares. The rules are said to make it harder for companies to move tax bases abroad and that it could affect the appeal of takeovers. The Dax has also been getting it in the neck from Deutsche Bank, whose execs have just had criminal charges filed against them by German prosecutors over a long running lawsuit over the collapse of the Kirch group. That news comes hot on the heals of further details of an aussie DB trader being fired for trying to conceal forex losses
