The US dollar was easily the best performer in July, adding at least 1.3% against the majors.
The worst performer was the kiwi dollar after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand signaled a move to the sidelines until year end as it assesses a series of rate hikes.
Technically, the pair failed at the 2011 high but even with the declines the fall in July failed to outpace the rally the month before.
