Dell Sweetens Bid For 3PAR

Dell Inc DELL has sweetened its bid for 3PAR Inc PAR to $24.30 per share. This exceeds the $24 per share bid placed by Hewlett-Packard Co HPQ on Monday. The agreement, which values the storage technology company at $1.53 billion, has been approved by PAR's board, which believes that DELL’s proposal is "superior." The agreement is based on about 63 million shares outstanding. DELL’s revised offer compares very favourably with the computer maker’s initial offer of $18 per share, or about $1.15 billion.
