China Unicom Gets Rights To iPhone 4, iPad

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU), China's second-largest mobile phone carrier, will reportedly begin selling the iPhone 4, the newest version of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) popular smartphone, next month.

Chinese state-controlled media sources also said Apple has granted China Unicom permission to sell the iPad tablet device as well. China Unicom said it has been in talks with Apple, but that it could not confirm the deals.

No timetable was announced for the iPad sales.
