Mebane Faber: Have an investment plan and stick to it

It's old advice, but sage advice: Have an investment plan, and stick to it.

Mebane Faber is the Chief Investment Officer at Cambria Asset Management, a Chartered Markets Technician and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. He also writes about the markets regularly on his World Beta Blog.

In his experience, the No. 1 mistake investors make is failing to have an investment process, at all, and/or not adhering to their process. Failure to follow rules is what leads to panic selling at market bottoms and stock chasing at market tops.
