Online dating startup "HowAboutWe" has raised $3.1 million in funding led by RRE Ventures. The site is offering a new spin on the space. HowAboutWe is focused on proposing and accepting specific date ideas that complete the sentence "How about we..."

For example, a user could propose a date such as, "How about we...go see the Jets play on Sunday," or "How about we...go to the Guggenheim," and other users can accept that date proposal if it appeals to them.

This is a different concept than what is currently available on sites like eHarmony and Match.com. The site is pushing towards a national rollout in the next few months.
