Platinum Lone Metal Higher This Morning (SLV, GLD, JJC, PALL, PLTM)

The metals complex is lower this morning, with the exception of platinum, as the metals consolidate recent gains. Copper is slightly down this morning, trading at $3.678 per pound. Copper continues to march higher, on strong Chinese demand and lower than expected inventory levels. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is down 27 cents this morning to $48.94. Silver is down 9 cents to $22.04 today. Silver has been showing signs of weakness recently, indicating a top may be near in the metal. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are down 9 cents this morning, to trade at $21.56, a loss of 0.4%. Gold is down $5.70 an ounce this morning, trading at $1,315.00. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are down 44 cents as well, tracking the metal to trade at $128.47. Platinum is the lone gainer today, gaining $23.60 cents an ounce today, to trade at $1,676.80, a gain of 1.4%. The platinum ETF settings First Trust ISE Global Platinum Index PLTM is trading $29.96 this morning. Palladium is the big loser on the day, losing more than 1.5% to trade at $567.00 an ounce.
