What does it take for an entrepreneur to persevere?
“To me it's all about breaking the rules and doing the opposite,” says ePrize founder and former CEO Josh Linkner. “So many people in 1999 were doing Internet advertising; promotions [were] largely dormant online. It was an untapped opportunity. So I felt that if everyone's gonna zig, maybe I should zag, and did the opposite and we launched ePrize.”
“I think it's a good lesson because Detroit is sort of the opposite too,” Linkner continues. “Everyone thinks you have to be in San Francisco or Boston to launch a cool company. I think Detroit is a great place to launch businesses and we're thrilled to be here.”
