The National Basketball Association and team owners are dishing out more money than ever on free agents following a massive hike in the salary cap.
During the 2015–2016 NBA season, each team's salary cap stood at $70 million. Next season, the figure will jump to at least $94 million and surge to $107 million the following season.
Free agents are expected to cash in big time — and the frenzy has already started. Kevin Durant has decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder for a cool $54.5 million over two years with the Golden State Warriors. Durant is consistently ranked as one of the top three best players in the entire league and will join reigning MVP Steph Curry in Golden State.
