David Einhorn Is Approved

According to tweets from ESPN New York's Adam Rubin and SI's Jon Heyman, Grenlight Capital's David Einhorn has been approved as minority owner of the New York Mets. There was some holds up in the deal, which was supposed to be completed by June 30, but now it looks as if Einhorn is set to become a minority owner in New York's National League franchise. Einhorn agreed to purchase a minority stake in the New York Mets after it was revealed earlier this year that a portion of the team was up for sale as the Wilpons are in legal discussions to pay back profits they received from investing in Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme. One would think that today would be a good day for Einhorn, but he earlier was knocked out in the second round of the World Series of Poker main event.
