Following Netflix, Inc. NFLX’s 7-for-1 stock split on Tuesday afternoon, legendary investor Carl Icahn posted a Tweet disclosing the termination of his position in the company.
The activist shareholder stated said he got rid of all of his Netflix stock, as his firm believes Apple Inc. AAPL currently represents the same opportunity they stated Netflix offered several years ago.

Later, on CNBC’s Halftime Report, Icahn said Netflix is "still a great company" and that "Reed Hastings has done a great job." However, he believes Apple currently is "where Netflix was a couple of years ago." The investor then added that Apple is his favorite stock, characterizing it as "one of the greatest stocks of the century" and highlighting the management's focus on GAAP results.
These comments have provided an additional boost to Apple’s stock, which was already surging on Wednesday. Now, let’s take a look at how Twitter Inc TWTR is reacting to the news.
Some were not that surprised:
All roads lead back to $AAPL when having a conversation with @Carl_C_Icahn lol

Others just agree (and thank him):
"In a strange way...almost perverse way....I wish $AAPL would go down." @Carl_C_Icahn #justDontTradeIt @HalftimeReport @jimcramer #sotrue

@Carl_C_Icahn sells his stake in Netflix. This guy is so good. Says $aapl is as good an opportunity. Apple up over $2. Thanks Carl.

Nice trade @Carl_C_Icahn $nflx from $90 to $700 and vocal about it the entire time. Move it to $aapl :)

And some saw it coming:
Gee, maybe $aapl might 'rip' a whole .02% or so at 1230 when @Carl_C_Icahn is on @cnbc. Load up for that 20 cent lols

Hope I got you into that $AAPL early by pointing it out this morning. Oh and thanks @Carl_C_Icahn
