CVS Pharmacy To Launch Digital Receipts For Customers

CVS Health Ltd's CVS subsidiary, CVS Pharmacy disclosed that it would unveil digital receipts as a new option for all members of its ExtraCare Rewards program. The company indicated that the new option for digital receipts would be rolled out in early June and eventually available in about 7,900 retail locations.

CVC said customers would have the opportunity to opt-out of getting paper receipts for all in-store purchases when completing their transactions in the front of the store. It added that once the one-time process is completed, the company said that customers would get receipts digitally, along with their coupons, as well as rewards, each time they shop at CVS Pharmacy.

CVC Pharmacy President, Helena Foulkes, commented, "We are excited to roll out the much-anticipated launch of digital receipts. We heard loud and clear that while our customers love receiving coupons and special offers, many wanted a paperless option. This feature lets our customers continue to make personalized choices as to how they engage with us, and will let our members choose to say 'So long!' to the long paper receipts at check-out."

The company stated that once enrolled, ExtraCare members would have all receipts delivered digitally through email. Members would continue to get exclusive benefits, personalized savings offers, available ExtraBucks Rewards and more that could be redeemed in store by using a smartphone, tablet or computer, and then simply selecting the "send to card" button found next to each offer. Moreover, all personal preferences were saved for future transactions. The company added that customers would always be able to request a paper copy of their receipt at the time of the transaction, if they want to get one.

CVCS traded 0.48 percent down on Monday.
