Stocks Finished Mixed (SPY, QQQQ)

U.S. equity markets closed Tuesday's trading session mixed, on what was a very slow, low-volume day on the exchanges. The Dow Jones Inustrial Average gained 20 points to close at 11,575. The widely watched blue-chip index traded in a range between 11,541 and 11,591. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF

added 0.14% to $125.83. Volume was anemic with only 55 million SPY shares trading hands compared to a 3-month daily average of 171.8 million. The PowerShares QQQ Trust ETF
